Rancho Cordova rocket motor maker GenCorp Inc. on Friday said it has formed Easton Development Co. LLC to concentrate on the development of GenCorp’s excess land in Eastern Sacramento County.
The company for six years has been working to prepare large tracts of undeveloped land for sale and development.
Easton is about 6,000 acres, much of it rolling oak woodlands. The entire tract is being designed to be developed as smaller boroughs.
GenCorp (NYSE: GY) in Dec. 2008 received entitlements from the county for the first two tracts, the 1,208-acre Glenborough tract and the 182-acre transit-oriented urban town center called Easton Place.
The newly named chief operating officer for Easton is David Hatch, who has been vice president of real estate for GenCorp. Hatch has been with GenCorp since 2002 and in charge of entitlement and development groups since 2007.
